AFGHAN RUG RESTORATION

This Afghan Elephant Foot design rug had a lot of wear, side cords and ends needed restoration. To re-pile the field of the rug, we dyed nine different shades of red wool to match the abrashes (natural colour variations in old rugs) this rug had, perfect colour matching is the key in restoring rugs successfully. Result is untraceable even to expert eyes. www.rugart.biz

Visible wear, foundations showing, if left untreated foundation threads will eventually break.

Dyed yarns, colour matching is very important part of any restoration job.

Re-piling process, with densely knotted rugs this can be a very slow process.
