We had this old (30-40years) Persian Qum rug came in for cleaning and end repairs. Great quality wool, it feels like silk and quite dense knotting. Results were great, our client was very happy. 140 x 215 cm

one of the most common issues ends and side cords, both ends needed to be repaired for this rug

worst effected area, flat woven 'kilim' style end

the other end was finished with traditional style fringes, also coming off

note how the corner of the rug is folded as it was used like this for long time

flat woven part after our repair work. secured with 'double persian chain stitch'

re-creating new fringes on the other side
new fringes securely anchored in and double chain stitched
